Slayer in El Sobrante
Slayer commercial service.
When a Slayer loses pump pressure, shots run thin and the ramp flattens before it reaches full pressure. That can happen on a Single Group or on a Steam EP, LP or X. We start at the pump and the gicleur before touching anything else, because a worn pump and a blocked restrictor produce similar shots.
We pick up from the downtown stretch of San Pablo Dam Road between El Portal and Appian Way, from El Sobrante Manor, and from homes in the hills above the road. EBMUD water is soft to moderate, which keeps the gicleur clear longer, though sediment can still reach it. On the bench we measure pump pressure and flow and put the quote in writing.
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Pump that no longer reaches brew pressure. A worn pump head or a weak motor cannot hold pressure under the draw of a shot. We measure output at the group, rebuild or replace the pump, and set its pressure to the specification. If the motor hums without turning, we test its capacitor and bearings as well.
- Gicleur blocked by scale or sediment. The gicleur is a tiny restrictor, and a little debris changes the flow through it. We clear or replace it and compare flow across the groups so each one pours the same.
- Pressure dropping when two groups run at once. On a multi-group machine, pressure that holds on one group but sags when two run points to the pump or the supply. We test with the groups running together and fix whichever falls short.

FAQ
Slayer in El Sobrante questions, answered.
-
Our Single Group pours thin shots even with a fresh grind. What should we check?
Watch the gauge during the shot. If pressure is low, the pump or the gicleur is the likely cause and the machine should come in. If pressure looks normal, check the dose and the basket before anything else. -
Does the water supply affect pump pressure?
It can. A half-closed shutoff or a clogged inlet filter starves the pump, and it cannot build pressure without water. Check the supply valve and the filter cartridge first. If both are clear, the pump itself needs testing. A new cartridge can shed fine particles at first, so flush it before reconnecting the machine. -
Can you collect a Single Group from a home in the hills above San Pablo Dam Road?
Yes. Tell us about steps, a steep drive or a long carry when you book. Disconnect the water line, let the machine cool, and drain the drip tray so it travels dry. -
What does the Slayer pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. -
How long does Slayer bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Slayer coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
