Slayer in San Pablo
Slayer commercial service.
On a Slayer Espresso 2 or 3 group running all day, the group gaskets harden and the brew group starts to leak. A group head that drips, channels or loses pressure during the shot usually needs fresh seals. It is a routine job, and a much easier one before a leak has run down into the machine.
We collect from along San Pablo Avenue and Rumrill Boulevard and from the rest of San Pablo. EBMUD water is soft to moderate, so heat and daily use are what wear the seals. On the bench we pull each group, clean the seats, reseal, and test pressure through a run of shots, with a written quote before any of it.
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Group dripping around the portafilter. A hardened group gasket no longer seals against the basket, and water escapes around the portafilter during the shot. We replace the gasket and screen, clean the seat, and check that the portafilter locks in at the right angle.
- Channeling and pressure loss on one group. If one group pours differently from the others on the same machine, its seals or screen are the first check. A screen packed with old coffee can mimic a worn seal, so we clean and inspect it first. Then we compare pressure group by group and reseal the one that falls short.
- Water inside the machine from a leaking group. A leak inside the group can run down into the frame before anyone sees it. We find the source with the panels off, reseal it, and check the wiring and valves below for water damage. Caught early, a seal job stays a seal job instead of turning into a valve or wiring repair.

FAQ
Slayer in San Pablo questions, answered.
-
How often should the group gaskets on a busy 3 group be replaced?
On a machine running all day, check them at every maintenance and replace them when the portafilter starts turning further than it used to. Waiting until a group leaks means cleaning up after the water as well. A spare set of gaskets on the shelf makes the change easy to schedule. -
Only one of our groups is leaking. Should we reseal all of them?
Usually, yes. The groups have worked the same hours, so the others are close behind. Doing them together means one trip to the bench instead of several. -
Can you pick up from a counter on Rumrill Boulevard?
Yes. Tell us the address and the easiest door. Shut off and disconnect the water and drain lines, let the machine cool, and remove the portafilters before we arrive. -
What does the Slayer pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. -
How long does Slayer bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Slayer coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
