Slayer in Vallejo
Slayer commercial service.
A Slayer runs on a plumbed line, and Vallejo's water is on the hard side. Scale collects where water stops and starts: the brew and steam solenoids, the element, and the temperature probe. A solenoid that sticks or chatters shows up as a group that keeps dripping, a shot that starts late, or steam that stutters when the wand opens.
We pick up from downtown, from the mixed-use buildings on Mare Island, and from counters across Vallejo. Proper filtration on the inlet line is the best protection a Slayer can get on this water. On the bench we open the machine, test each solenoid coil and valve, check the element and probe for scale, and send the quote before any work goes ahead.
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Brew solenoid sticking open or chattering. Scale on the plunger and seat keeps a brew solenoid from closing cleanly. The group drips after the shot, or the valve buzzes while it is open. We replace it with the correct Slayer valve and check the other solenoids that have run on the same water.
- Steam solenoid that stutters or will not open. When the steam side scales, the solenoid can open late or only partway, and the wand spits instead of giving a steady stream. We test the coil, rebuild or replace the valve, and check steam pressure at the wand once it is back together.
- Scaled element slowing the boiler. A crust on the element slows recovery and can overheat the element until it fails. We descale the boiler, test the element's resistance and insulation, and replace it if it has weakened.

FAQ
Slayer in Vallejo questions, answered.
-
What filtration should a Slayer have on Vallejo water?
A filter or softening system made for espresso, matched to the hardness and your volume, on the inlet line ahead of the machine. Change the cartridge on schedule. Without filtration, hard water scales the solenoids and the element well before their time. -
Our Slayer group drips after every shot. Is that the solenoid?
On hard water it often is. A drip that continues after the shot ends usually means the brew solenoid is not sealing. A leak only during the shot points more to the group gasket. We test both on the bench. -
Our Slayer sits on a counter downtown. How do we get it ready for pickup?
Shut off and disconnect the water supply, drain the drip tray and drain line, and let the machine cool fully. Take out the portafilters and bag them. Tell us about steps, doors and parking, since a multi-group Slayer is heavy and takes two people to carry. -
What does the Slayer pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. -
How long does Slayer bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Slayer coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
