Lafayette runs a tight downtown coffee scene along Mt. Diablo Boulevard and around the BART plaza, where a couple of the specialty shops pull on Slayer machines all morning for the commute crowd. In 94549 the morning rush is short and brutal, so a Slayer that loses pressure at 7am is a real problem.

We are close on this one. We run the machine first, find the actual fault, and quote it in writing before any work starts.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Brew and steam solenoids. A solenoid that hangs open or chatters kills shot consistency and steam. We test and replace the brew and steam solenoids and clear the valve seats.
Needle valve flow profiling. If the profiling feels flat or the lever no longer changes the shot, the needle valve assembly needs a rebuild. We service the valve and actuator and reset the flow range.
Pump and pressure. Weak or surging pressure on a busy morning is often the rotary pump or a fouled inlet. We check pump output, the line, and the water supply and fix the cause.
Descaling on the plumbed line. Lafayette tap leaves scale in the boiler and brew path. We descale and check the inline filter so flow stays stable through the rush.
