Milpitas runs its Slayer machines hard, from the cafes around the Great Mall and McCarthy Ranch to the office and food court spots in 95035. A lot of these are tucked into commercial plazas with shared water lines, and the local water is hard, so scale in the boiler and brew valves is the usual culprit.

From San Ramon we reach Milpitas in about 35 minutes down 680. We service Slayer as an independent shop, not a factory authorized center.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Brew needle valve service. Scale from a plumbed line in 95035 binds the needle valve and throws off flow profiling. We clean or rebuild the valve and actuator so the shot ramps the way it should.
Boiler element and probe. A scaled element runs hot or quits, and a fouled probe makes temperature jump around. We test both, descale the boiler, and recommend filtration to slow it down.
Group seals and gaskets. High pull counts wear group gaskets, which leads to leaks at the portafilter and uneven extraction. We replace seals and gaskets and inspect the group.
Steam solenoid and wand. A steam solenoid clogged with scale leaves you fighting a weak or dripping wand during the morning rush. We rebuild or replace the solenoid and clear the steam circuit.
