Faema in Woodside

Faema commercial service.

Woodside is zoned for large residential parcels, not storefronts, so the Faema groups I work on sit inside main house kitchens and the second kitchens of guest houses on estates along Mountain Home Road and Kings Mountain Road. An E61 group plumbed into a butler's pantry gets used hard during a weekend of entertaining and then sits idle all week, and that stop-start pattern is what tends to harden the group gasket faster than steady daily use would.

From San Ramon it runs about 50 to 60 minutes, I-680 south then CA-92 or I-280, and we book Woodside on the same Peninsula day as Hillsborough so you are not paying for a special trip. Long private driveways and gate codes are normal out here, so we get access details set before we head up. We are an independent shop and not part of Faema's factory network.

$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. Repair parts are covered for 6 months; consumables are covered for 90 days.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

  • E61 group gasket and seal rebuild. The E61 group gasket hardens and starts weeping around the portafilter, and on a machine that runs hard for one dinner party and then sits, that wear shows up in fits and starts rather than gradually. I pull the group, fit a new gasket and shower screen seals, and set the lever tension back to spec.
  • Brew and steam solenoid replacement. A solenoid that sticks leaves a group dripping after the shot or a steam wand that will not fully shut off. We test the coil and valve body and swap the solenoid that failed.
  • Heat-exchanger descale and water filtration. Estate kitchens up here run on the same hard supply as the rest of the Peninsula, and the heat exchanger scales just as fast as it would downhill. We descale the exchanger and boiler and set up inline filtration sized to the unit.
  • Pump and level probe service. Weak pressure at the group usually comes from a worn rotary pump or a scaled level probe telling the boiler the wrong thing. We test pressure, rebuild or replace the pump, and clean or swap the probe.

FAQ

Faema in Woodside questions, answered.

  • How long is the drive from San Ramon to Woodside, and do I get a real time?
Plan on 50 to 60 minutes, down I-680 south and over on CA-92 or I-280. We run Woodside with Hillsborough on our Peninsula day, and once it's on the calendar we send a written arrival window, not a half-day guess.
  • Do you stock Faema parts for these estate machines?
E61 group gaskets, shower screens, and solenoids ride on the van. Boards, level probes, and anything specific to less common models come through the La Cimbali supply chain, usually a couple of days.
  • What does the Faema pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. Repair work is quoted separately.
  • How long does Faema bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered.
  • What warranty applies to Faema coffee-machine repair?
Repair parts are covered for 6 months; consumables are covered for 90 days.
