Faema in El Cerrito

Faema commercial service.

El Cerrito's San Pablo Avenue strip, between the hills and the two BART stations, carries a steady run of small restaurants and cafes, and the few running Faema machines in 94530 push them through long commuter-driven mornings. High traffic near El Cerrito Plaza and both BART stops means group seals and solenoids wear faster than a quieter counter would see, and hard water in this part of the East Bay keeps scale building in the boiler. We service these independently; we aren't a factory-authorized Faema dealer.

From San Ramon it's about 40 to 45 minutes on I-580 or Highway 24 to I-80, and El Cerrito rides on the same routed day as our Berkeley and Richmond Inner East Bay calls. We carry common E61 group and brew solenoid parts so a busy San Pablo Avenue counter isn't stuck waiting on a seal.

$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. Repair parts are covered for 6 months; consumables are covered for 90 days.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

  • High-volume E61 group rebuild. El Cerrito cafes near the BART stations run the group hard through the morning commute, so gaskets and seals wear out. The fix is pulling the E61-style group on the Legend or Jubile and rebuilding it, which stops the drip and gets shots pulling clean.
  • Brew and steam solenoid replacement. Heavy commuter traffic plus hard water kills solenoids faster than normal. On E71 and Teorema units we replace the brew and steam solenoids so the group head and wand switch on and off without lag.
  • Multi-boiler descaling and element. On multi-boiler Faema machines, scale hits the brew boiler first. We run a descale, check each heating element, and replace any that failed so every boiler stays at its set temperature.
  • Pump and pressure diagnosis. Weak shots or no pressure on a machine running a full commuter rush usually trace to the pump. We test line pressure and the pump and replace it when it's worn out.
