Faema in Moraga

Faema commercial service.

Moraga is small and quiet, with the coffee spots clustered around the Rheem Valley and Moraga Center shopping areas in 94556, plus the cafes serving Saint Mary's College. A Faema machine here may not pull the volume of a downtown cafe, but when it goes down there is no second machine to fall back on.

From San Ramon it is about a 20 to 25 minute drive over through Lafayette, one of the closer towns we cover. The water in these hills is hard, so scale in the boiler and heat exchanger drives most of what we see, and we keep filtration in the conversation.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Boiler descaling and element check. Hard Moraga water scales the boiler and the element runs hot until it fails. We descale and test the element, replacing it only when it is actually gone.
E61 group gasket replacement. Even at lower volume the E61 group gaskets dry out and start to drip. We replace the gaskets and seals and reseat the group so it holds pressure.
Level probe and overfill fix. A scaled level probe makes the boiler over or underfill and throws faults. We clean or replace the probe and set the fill back to spec.
Brew solenoid and water filter. A sticking brew solenoid gives no flow or a slow pour. We rebuild the solenoid and set up or change the water filter under our CSLB #1136642 license.
