Faema in Daly City

Faema commercial service.

Daly City sits in the fog belt right above San Francisco, and that marine layer hangs over Westlake Shopping Center and the cafes near Top of the Hill on Mission Street in 94014 most of the year. The constant damp works into a Faema faster than dry inland air does, softening gaskets and pushing moisture into places it shouldn't be.

We also cover Brisbane, the small city tucked next to Daly City off Bayshore Boulevard, so a shop on either side of that line gets the same coverage.

We work on Faema as an independent shop, not a factory dealer. We have a technician based on the Peninsula, in San Mateo County, so Daly City doesn't sit behind a drive from San Ramon.

$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. Repair parts are covered for 6 months; consumables are covered for 90 days.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

  • Group gasket replacement in a damp climate. Fog moisture gets into the E61 group faster here than in a drier city, and a soaked or baked gasket lets the portafilter slip past its normal lock point. We pull the group, fit a new gasket and shower screen, and check the seat before closing it back up.
  • Brew and steam solenoid failure. A group that keeps weeping after the shot ends or a steam wand that hisses after you shut it off usually means the solenoid coil or seat has failed. We test both valves on Faema E61 Legend and Teorema machines and replace the one that's actually sticking.
  • Pump output check. When a shot pulls thin and fast instead of building resistance, we check brew pressure at the group first. A Faema should hold close to 9 bar under load, and if it's sagging we trace it to a worn pump or a fouled inlet strainer before replacing anything.
