Viking in San Jose
Viking in San Jose kitchens.
San Jose is big and the housing swings hard from block to block. You'll find real Viking Professional kitchens in Willow Glen remodels off Lincoln Avenue, in the Rose Garden Craftsmans, and up in the Almaden and Silver Creek estate pockets. In the denser east and central neighborhoods a full built-in Viking is less common, and I won't pretend otherwise.
The call we get most in San Jose is oven-related. A Viking wall oven or range that won't hold temperature, bakes unevenly, or throws a temp fault usually has a tired bake or broil element, or a drifting thermostat sensor. On the dual-fuel models the electronic control can lose calibration after years of heat cycling. Owners notice it first when a roast that always took an hour suddenly needs ninety minutes.
We're independent, based in San Ramon, and not factory-affiliated with Viking. EPA 608 certified, CSLB #1136642. The $75 diagnostic is waived when you go ahead with the repair, and you get the written quote before we touch a part.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Oven bake and broil elements. On Viking electric and dual-fuel ovens, a bake element that's blistered or broken in one spot stops heating evenly. We test continuity, inspect for arc damage on the element and the terminal block, and install the correct wattage element so the cavity comes back to full even heat.
- Thermostat and temperature sensor calibration. When the oven reads right but bakes wrong, the RTD sensor has usually drifted out of range. We measure its resistance against temperature, check the control board reference, and either replace the sensor or recalibrate so the setpoint and the real cavity temperature match.
- Convection fan and motor. A convection oven that's noisy or heating unevenly often has a worn fan bearing or a failing motor. We pull the rear panel, check the fan for play and the motor windings for continuity, and replace the assembly so air moves the way convection needs.

FAQ
Viking in San Jose questions, answered.
-
My Viking oven bakes unevenly, is that the element or the sensor?
Both can cause it. A blistered bake element leaves cold spots, and a drifted sensor makes the whole cavity run off temperature. We test both on the visit so you pay to fix the real cause, not a guess. -
You're in San Ramon, is San Jose too far for you?
Not at all. We head down through the Dublin and Pleasanton side to 680 south, roughly an hour to most San Jose neighborhoods. We schedule South Bay work in blocks so the trip does not cost you extra. -
Do many San Jose homes even have Viking?
More than people expect, but concentrated. Willow Glen, the Rose Garden, Almaden, and Silver Creek carry most of them. In the denser central neighborhoods they are rarer. We work on them wherever they sit.
