Viking in San Carlos
Viking in San Carlos kitchens.
San Carlos runs from the shops and restaurants on Laurel Street up into White Oaks, Devonshire, and the San Carlos Hills. A good number of those hillside remodels went in with a full Viking package, rangetop and wall oven downstairs paired with a built-in column refrigerator. It's a brand we see steadily in this city, more than in some of the flatter towns nearby.
What brings me out most in San Carlos is a built-in refrigeration column that has lost its cold. The unit runs constantly, frost builds up where it shouldn't, or the temperature just creeps up past where it should sit. That's a sealed-system symptom more often than not, and I trace it back to a fan, a defrost issue, or a slow leak before I touch the refrigerant.
ADRIUM Service Solutions is owner-operated, based in San Ramon, and we keep a technician working the Peninsula now, in San Mateo County, so response to San Carlos doesn't depend on someone driving across the bay. EPA 608 certified, CSLB #1136642. Diagnostic is $99, credited toward the repair, and I write the quote out before I start.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Built-in refrigeration losing its cold. A Viking column that runs nonstop or won't hold temperature is telling you something in the sealed system or the defrost cycle is off. We check the evaporator fan and defrost heater first since those are the cheaper fixes, and only open the sealed system if there's an actual leak, always under EPA 608 handling.
- Oven sensor and control faults. A Viking wall oven that bakes hot, bakes cold, or throws an error code partway through a cycle usually has a temperature sensor drifting out of range or a control board misreading it. We test the sensor's resistance against what the board expects and replace whichever one is actually lying.
- Uneven burner ignition on the rangetop. When one burner on a San Carlos Viking rangetop lights fine and its neighbor sputters or needs three tries, the spark module or that burner's igniter is usually worn unevenly. We test each igniter individually rather than assuming the whole module is bad, and replace only what's failing.

FAQ
Viking in San Carlos questions, answered.
-
Do you have someone close by, or is San Carlos a special trip?
We now station a technician on the Peninsula, in San Mateo County, so San Carlos is regular territory for him, not a special trip from San Ramon. That's the honest version of it. -
Is Viking common in San Carlos, or should I expect a wait for parts?
It's common enough here that I keep the usual wear parts, gaskets, igniters, common sensors, on hand. A less common control board can take longer to source, and I'll tell you that up front rather than guess at a date. -
How does pricing work before you've even looked at the unit?
The diagnostic visit is $99. If you approve the repair afterward, that $99 is credited toward the job. You'll have a written quote in hand before any repair starts.
