Viking in Los Altos Hills
Viking in Los Altos Hills kitchens.
Los Altos Hills is estate country. One-acre minimum lots, private drives off Elena Road and Moody Road, and kitchens that were designed around a Viking Professional range as the anchor of the room. On homes like these the cooktop is usually the first thing a remodel is built around, so when a burner stops lighting the whole kitchen feels out of service.
The Viking gear up here is commercial-style equipment living in a residential setting. The 7-Series rangetops pull real BTUs, the sealed burners run hot, and the spark systems take a beating over years of daily use. I still see original units from the mid-2000s working fine in Fremont Hills, which says a lot about how they were built, but the igniters and control parts do wear with time.
We are ADRIUM Service Solutions, an independent shop based in San Ramon and run by Andrew Kuznetsov. We are EPA 608 certified and licensed under CSLB #1136642. The diagnostic is $75 and we waive it when you go ahead with the repair. You get a written quote before any work begins, and we are not a factory contractor, so my recommendation is based on the unit in front of me, not a brand script.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Rangetop burner igniters that click without catching. On the 5 and 7-Series sealed burners, a head that snaps at the spark again and again without a flame nearly always means a fouled ceramic igniter or a failing module. Spills and moisture work into the igniter over the years and throw the spark off target. We clean and reseat the burner heads, test the module, and replace the igniter or the spark unit when the reading confirms it.
- Wall oven bake and broil element failures. A Viking wall oven that heats slowly or bakes unevenly usually has an element on its way out or a temperature sensor drifting out of range. We measure element resistance cold, check the sensor against known values, and inspect the wiring at the back where heat cycling tends to loosen connections.
- Built-in refrigeration running warm. Viking built-in columns and bottom-freezer units that hold too warm can point to a sealed system issue, a tired condenser fan, or a frosted evaporator. Any sealed system work involves refrigerant, so this is where the EPA 608 certification matters. We diagnose the whole circuit before quoting, because a warm box is not always a compressor.

FAQ
Viking in Los Altos Hills questions, answered.
-
How far is your drive from San Ramon out to Los Altos Hills?
We run down I-680 to I-280 and cut over through Palo Alto, which is one of your neighboring towns. Figure roughly 45 minutes to an hour depending on the time of day. The Mid-Peninsula is regular territory for us, so getting up into the hills is not a problem. -
Can you handle gated properties and long private drives?
Yes. A lot of the work up here is behind a gate or at the end of a shared driveway, so I ask for the gate code and any access notes when we book. If parking is tight near the kitchen entrance, let me know and we plan around it. -
What does the visit cost before any repair?
The diagnostic is $75. If you approve the repair, that $75 is waived and folded into the job. I write up the quote after I have looked at the unit, so you see the number before we touch anything.
