Dublin built out fast over the last twenty years, so the Viking kitchens here are newer than most. Schaefer Ranch up on the west hills and the larger homes in Dublin Ranch and Positano carry Viking ranges and rangetops that went in with the house. Down in the flatter, denser tracts near Emerald Glen a full Viking range is less common, and we cover those too.
Because the equipment is newer, the Dublin Viking calls I get lean toward ignition electronics rather than worn-out mechanics. A rangetop where the spark keeps clicking after the burner has already lit, an igniter that misfires only on the low simmer setting, or one burner that will not catch while the rest do fine. We trace it to the module or the single igniter and put the fix in writing first.

- Rangetop spark modules and igniters. On the newer Viking rangetops in Dublin Ranch and Schaefer Ranch the spark keeps clicking after the flame is lit, or one burner will not light while the others do. That points at the spark module or a single igniter, not worn mechanics. We test the module output, isolate the failed igniter, and replace it so the spark cuts out once the burner catches.
- Ventilation hood blower and controls. Viking ventilation over these ranges loses suction when the blower motor bearings wear or the speed control fails, so the hood gets loud or stops pulling. We check the blower motor, the control switch, and the wiring, then replace the motor or control so the hood moves air and runs quiet again over the cooktop.
- Oven temperature and door alignment. The Viking ovens in Dublin homes drift off temperature as the sensor ages, and the door can fall out of alignment so heat escapes. We verify the real cavity temperature, check the sensor and bake element, and reset the door and gasket so the oven holds its setpoint and seals properly.

Dublin borders San Ramon, so are you basically right there?
Yes. Dublin shares a line with San Ramon, so it is one of our quickest drives, usually 10 minutes up San Ramon Valley Boulevard or across the I-680 and 580 interchange to Dublin Ranch or Schaefer Ranch. We still set an appointment window rather than promise same-day, but Dublin routes fill fast. -
My Viking range is newer and I think it may still be under warranty. Should I call you or the manufacturer?
If the unit is still inside the factory warranty, start with the manufacturer, since we are an independent shop and not authorized warranty service for Viking. Once it is out of warranty, or if you would rather use an independent tech, we are glad to take it and we will quote the repair in writing. -
The spark on my Viking rangetop keeps clicking even after the burner lights. Is that a real problem?
It is worth fixing. Continuous clicking after ignition usually means a fouled igniter or a spark module that is not sensing the flame, and it wears the igniter faster over time. We clean and test the burner, replace the igniter or module if needed, and give you the written price before we do the work.
