Viking in Castro Valley
Viking in Castro Valley kitchens.
Castro Valley runs from the older ranch blocks off Castro Valley Boulevard up to the custom hillside homes in Palomares Hills and Five Canyons. Viking gear shows up mostly in those hillside kitchens rather than the flatter tracts near Lake Chabot, and we service both. I will say it plainly: a full Viking 7-Series suite is rarer here than in Blackhawk or Alamo, but the ranges that are installed get cooked on hard, and that is when people call.
The common thread with Viking in Castro Valley is age. A lot of these ranges went in during remodels ten or fifteen years ago, and the open-burner spark igniters take the brunt of daily use. When a burner stops lighting, we come out, run a real diagnostic on the bench of the range, and put the numbers in a written quote before any part leaves the truck.
ADRIUM is an independent shop based in San Ramon, and Andrew handles the built-in calls himself. We are CSLB licensed (#1136642) and EPA 608 certified for any sealed-system work, and the $75 diagnostic is waived when you approve the repair.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Range burner igniters and spark modules. On Viking open-burner ranges the ceramic igniters and the spark module sit right under the burner caps, so years of spillover and grease work into them. When one burner snaps away without a flame, or the whole bank ticks together while none of them light, it is usually a fouled igniter or a tired module. We clean or replace the igniters, test the module output, and check the burner ports so the flame seats evenly across the ring.
- Oven sensor drift and uneven bake. The dual-fuel Viking ovens in Castro Valley remodels use a temperature sensor that slowly reads off as it ages, so the oven runs hot or cold while the display looks fine. We measure the real cavity temperature against the setpoint, check the sensor resistance cold and hot, and replace the sensor or the bake element depending on what the readings show.
- Built-in refrigerator gasket and door seal. On Viking built-in refrigeration the door gaskets harden and tear over time, and the box starts sweating or running long to hold temp. We inspect the gasket seat, check the door alignment and closer, and swap the gasket so the seal pulls tight again. If the long run times point at the sealed system, we test that too before quoting.

FAQ
Viking in Castro Valley questions, answered.
-
How fast can you get to Castro Valley from your San Ramon base?
We run straight down I-580 through Dublin, so most days it is a 25 to 30 minute drive to Castro Valley Boulevard or up into Palomares Hills. We group Castro Valley calls with our Dublin and Hayward routes to keep the scheduling tight. We are not a same-day shop, but we book quickly. -
My Viking range is over fifteen years old. Is it worth repairing?
Usually yes. Viking built the open-burner ranges heavy, and the parts that fail first (igniters, spark modules, valves, gaskets) are still available. We give you the written repair quote against the age and condition of the unit so you can decide with real numbers, not a guess. -
Is Viking even common around Castro Valley?
Honestly, it is more of a hillside thing here. You see full Viking suites up in Five Canyons and Palomares Hills, and less often in the older tracts near the boulevard. Wherever yours is, we service it. We do not pretend the brand is on every block.
