Berkeley runs serious coffee volume. The Gourmet Ghetto stretch of North Shattuck in 94703, the Telegraph Avenue strip by the university in 94704, and the Elmwood shops in 94705 all keep machines busy from open to close. WMF super-automatics show up in the higher-throughput cafes, campus food service, and the office buildings downtown.

Berkeley is about 40 minutes from our San Ramon shop, more during commute hours.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

High-volume brewer rebuild. A 5000S+ or 9000S+ pulling hundreds of cups a day wears the brewer fast. We rebuild it with fresh seals and pistons so it keeps up with a Shattuck or Telegraph rush.
Grinder burr replacement. Heavy daily volume eats burrs. We swap them and reset the grind so dose and extraction hold steady through a full shift.
Dynamic Milk module overhaul. Cafe milk modules take the most abuse. We strip the Dynamic Milk unit, clear and replace valves, and rebuild the path so cappuccinos come out right under pressure.
Boiler descaling and water filtration. Berkeley water and high throughput pile scale into the boiler quick. We descale, check or upgrade the inline filter, and keep the heater and pump from failing early.
