- Corroded fittings and wand tips. Salt air pits chrome and steel fittings faster than inland use ever would. We replace corroded portafilter spouts, steam wand tips, and fitting hardware, and coat threads on reassembly to slow it down.
- Connector and control board corrosion. Moist coastal air gets into connectors behind the panel and causes intermittent faults that look electrical but are really just corrosion on the contacts. We clean or replace the connectors before assuming the board itself is bad.
- Group gaskets and screens. Coastal humidity does not spare the gaskets either, they dry out and crack faster than we see in drier parts of our territory. We replace them on a shorter interval here than we would recommend inland.
