From San Ramon it is about 50 to 60 minutes down I-680 and across on CA-92 or I-280 to reach these hillside properties. We carry the common Astoria wear parts on the van, so a stuck solenoid or a worn group gasket during a weekend gathering does not turn into a two day wait while the household improvises with a French press.

What we repair on the bench.

Brew and steam solenoids. A solenoid that sticks open or stops flowing leaves a group dead or a steam wand that will not respond, usually right when a machine gets asked to do more than its usual daily pot of drip coffee.
Group gaskets and screens. These hillside properties often run on well water, and mineral content chews through a group gasket and clogs the dispersion screen faster than people expect from a machine used mostly on weekends. We replace the gasket and screen and pull a clean test shot before we leave.
Heating element and level probe. Scale buildup on the element and the level probe is the usual reason a boiler runs slow to recover or overfills on a machine that only gets heavy use during entertaining. We descale the boiler, check the probe, and replace the element if it has already burned through.
Pump and motor. A noisy pump or weak brew pressure on a Plus 4 You or Storm traces back to the rotary pump or its motor almost every time. We set the pressure to spec and replace the pump once it is past the point of adjustment.
