Group gasket leaking past the portafilter. Water spraying around the handle during a shot means the gasket has hardened and no longer seals. We pull the group, replace the gasket and dispersion screen, clean the seat, and pull test shots until the portafilter locks in and holds.
Solenoid coil that has burned out. A group that goes silent while the pump runs can be a coil that has failed electrically rather than a valve blocked with scale. We measure the coil, check the voltage reaching it, and replace the coil alone when the valve body is still good.
Glazed screens and uneven flow on a Storm. Coffee oils bake onto the dispersion screen and the group chamber, and the water starts hitting the puck unevenly. A daily backflush helps, but a screen that has glazed over needs replacing. We clean the group, fit a new screen, and check the flow at each group head.
