Eversys in Portola Valley
Eversys commercial service.
Portola Valley (94028) keeps almost no commercial inventory beyond its small town center, so the Eversys machines we see are built into main house kitchens and the second kitchens of guest cottages on the wooded acreage off Alpine Road and Portola Road. Several of these properties sit on well water rather than a municipal line, and well supply tends to carry more dissolved mineral content than a city main, which pushes scale into the boiler and brew path faster than the owner expects.
The drive up from San Ramon runs 50 to 60 minutes, I-680 south into CA-92 or I-280, and we book Portola Valley on the same Peninsula swing as Hillsborough so the trip is not wasted on one stop. This is a wildfire-aware community and PG&E shuts power off on some of these ridges during red flag days, so a few clients run a generator or battery backup, and we make sure the machine's control board resets clean after a hard power cut. We are an independent shop, not Eversys-authorized, and we cover the e series, c series, Cameo, Legacy, and Enigma line. The $75 diagnostic comes off the bill once you approve the repair, and the quote is in writing before we touch anything.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Brew unit rebuild. Seals and the piston in an e or c series brew unit wear out over enough cycles, same as any bar machine, and a unit that sees heavy weekend entertaining and light weekday use wears in bursts rather than evenly. We strip it down, replace the worn parts, and reset the brew valves so pressure sits where it should.
- Descaling and water filtration. Well water on the outer roads toward Skyline runs harder than most people realize, and it scales a twin boiler faster than town water would. We descale the boiler and flow path and set up filtration sized to the actual water hardness on that property, not a generic cartridge.
- Grinder service. Dose drift and a thin, fast shot almost always trace back to worn burrs or grounds packed in the chute. We swap the burrs, clear the path, and dial the dose back in.
- Milk system and flow sensor faults. A cappuccino that runs cold on the first pull and scalding on the second usually means the flow sensor is fouled or the milk unit needs a strip-down. We clean or replace the parts and verify the sensor before we call it done.

FAQ
Eversys in Portola Valley questions, answered.
-
How long does it take you to get from San Ramon to Portola Valley, and will I get a real time window?
About 50 to 60 minutes, down I-680 south and over on CA-92 or I-280. We route Portola Valley with Hillsborough on our Peninsula day, and once you're booked we give you a written arrival time instead of an all-day window. -
Do you stock Eversys parts, or do you need to order them for a Portola Valley call?
Brew unit seals, gaskets, burrs, and tubing are on the truck. Boards, pumps, and hydraulic valves come from supply and usually take a few days to land. -
What should I expect to pay?
The $75 diagnostic is waived when you approve the repair, and you get a written quote first. Most jobs on these units run parts and labor only, no surprise line items.
