Synesso in San Pablo

Synesso commercial service.

San Pablo sits on the flat ground between the north end of the Berkeley Hills and the bay, with San Pablo Avenue running through it and Contra Costa College inside the city. When a Synesso here goes dark, refuses to heat, or throws the same fault every morning, the control side is where we start.

Control boards on these machines do fail, but so do the cheaper parts around them: a probe reading wrong, a relay that sticks, a loose connector. On our bench we test the board against the symptom with the machine running, so the quote names the part that caused the fault and not every part that could have. Water here is EBMUD, soft to moderate, which keeps scale-related trouble slow to develop.

$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

  • Machine completely dead at the switch. No lights and no heat usually means power is not reaching the board: a failed fuse, a tripped safety cutout or a burnt connector. We trace the supply from the plug inward before we condemn the board itself.
  • Temperature probe feeding the PID bad numbers. When a group shows a setpoint it clearly is not holding, its probe may be drifting. We check the probe against a reference thermometer, swap it if it is out, and watch the group recover through a run of shots.
  • Board output or relay that sticks. A relay that welds shut keeps an element heating past its setpoint, and one that fails open leaves a boiler cold. We test the board outputs one by one and replace the board only when an output itself has failed, then write the readings into the quote.

FAQ

Synesso in San Pablo questions, answered.

  • Our Synesso trips the breaker every morning at startup. Is it the machine?
Often it is an element beginning to short to ground, which trips the breaker as it warms up. It can also be the circuit. We test the elements and the wiring on our bench, and if the machine checks out, we say so and point you toward an electrician.
  • Do you collect from cafes near Contra Costa College?
Yes. Anywhere in San Pablo, including the area around the college, we collect the machine, diagnose it on our bench and bring it back after the repair you approve. Give us your opening hours and we plan the pickup around them.
  • How do we know the control board is really the problem?
We run the machine on the bench and measure the board's inputs and outputs while the fault happens. If the probes, relays and wiring around it are sound and the output is still wrong, the board is the cause, and that is what the quote says.
  • What does the Synesso pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair.
  • How long does Synesso bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered.
  • What warranty applies to Synesso coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
