Synesso in Benicia
Synesso commercial service.
Benicia's water is moderately hard, and the figure moves with the source. The city blends State Water Project supply with Lake Berryessa and Lake Herman, so hardness rises and falls as the mix changes. On a Synesso that unevenness tends to show up on the volumetric side first: flow meters collect deposits at different rates, and a two-group S200 can start dosing one group heavier than the other.
Downtown runs along First Street toward the waterfront, and the Arsenal Historic District holds studios and small offices in old brick and stone buildings. Wherever the machine sits, we disconnect it, drain it and bring it to our bench, then call you with what we found and a written quote. It goes back to the same spot once the repair is approved and tested.

Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Uneven dosing between groups on the S200. When one group pours more than the other on the same program, we check both flow meters for buildup and wear, then compare their pulse counts against the volume that lands in the cup. A meter that cannot be cleaned back to spec gets replaced, and both groups are reprogrammed.
- Group solenoid dripping between shots. A solenoid that no longer seats lets water weep from the group after the shot ends. Scale grit is one cause and a worn plunger seal is another. We rebuild the solenoid, fit a fresh group gasket while the head is apart, and confirm the group closes clean.
- Pump pressure that sags under load. If the gauge reads right at idle but drops once both groups pull together, the pump or its motor is losing ground. We run the machine on the bench against a gauge, find which of the two is wearing, and quote the rebuild or the replacement.

FAQ
Synesso in Benicia questions, answered.
-
Our hardness readings in Benicia jump around. How should we set a descale interval?
Set it by the hardest water you are likely to get, not the average. With a filter sized for your volume and cartridges changed on time, a yearly check is a sensible starting point. When the boilers are open on our bench, we look at the scale and adjust that interval to what is actually there. -
We run a single-group ES1 in an Arsenal studio. Is it worth repairing?
Usually, yes. The ES1 is built to be serviced and its parts are accessible, so most faults come down to a solenoid, a gasket, an element or a probe. If anything makes replacement the better call, the written quote says so. -
Our First Street counter has a narrow back door. Can the machine still come out?
Probably. We drain the boilers before moving it, which takes off real weight, and we look at the route out ahead of time. A photo of the counter and the doorway helps us bring the right number of hands. -
What does the Synesso pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. -
How long does Synesso bench repair take?

What warranty applies to Synesso coffee-machine repair?
