Pacifica runs along Highway 1 from Rockaway Beach down through Linda Mar, and every cafe out here deals with the same thing: marine air rolling off the ocean every day. That air carries salt, and salt finds its way into anything metal, including the inside of an espresso machine.

We come out from San Ramon, usually through 280 and down Skyline, and we also have a technician based on the Peninsula in San Mateo County who can get to Pacifica faster than a straight East Bay trip. We work these machines as an independent shop, not on behalf of Synesso.

Corrosion on fittings and contacts. Salt air pits steel fittings and creeps into electrical contacts faster here than it does inland. We check connectors, wiring, and exposed fittings on every visit, not just when something's already failed.
Group gasket and solenoid wear. Ocean air adds to normal cycle wear on gaskets and solenoids. A group that's leaking or slow to fire gets rebuilt, and we check the others for the same early signs.
Boiler element and PID testing. A group that won't hold temperature out here can be a straightforward element failure sped along by the coastal environment. We test each PID separately and replace only the element that's actually gone.
