Berkeley has one of the densest third-wave scenes in the Bay, and Synesso shows up all over it. From San Ramon it's about 35 to 45 minutes through the tunnel depending on traffic. Berkeley's water is moderately hard, and high-volume shops run a lot of it through the groups, so scale and worn seals are the bread and butter of what we fix here. We check filtration on every visit.

Boiler element and PID per group. Scale loads up a group boiler under heavy use and the PID drifts. We descale, replace the element if it's pitted, and confirm per-group temperature holds through a rush.
Flow meter cleaning and replacement. Volumetric shots wandering during service usually trace to a fouled flow meter. We clean or replace it so dosing stays consistent across all groups.
Pump and motor service. Pressure sag mid-shift points at the pump or motor on a high-duty machine. We test line pressure, rebuild or replace the pump, and verify steady brew pressure under load.
