In a Coffee Soul or Coffee Skye pouring for an office or a counter all day, that hardness settles in the boiler and in the water and steam valves, and a filter kept past its capacity lets it through at full strength.

We collect machines from downtown, from the mixed-use buildings on Mare Island, and from the rest of Vallejo. Have whoever looks after your plumbing close and disconnect the water line before pickup. On the bench we check the boiler and valves for scale, test the pump against its rated pressure, and note every message the machine shows before we write a quote.

What we repair on the bench.

Water filter kept past its capacity. A filter cartridge treats a set volume of water and then stops protecting the machine. On hard water that point arrives sooner, so an interval chosen for softer water leaves the boiler exposed. We replace the machine's built-in filter cartridge on request and give you a change date for your cup count and Vallejo's water.
Steam valve scaled shut or leaking past its seat. Scale builds on the valve seat until the steam valve sticks closed or never fully seals. Milk drinks come out weak, or steam hisses into the drip tray between drinks. We replace the water and steam valves as a set when one has failed, because the others have run on the same water.
Boiler slow to heat or showing a heating fault. Scale on the element and inside the boiler slows the heat-up and can trigger a heating error in the middle of a busy morning. We descale the boiler, test the element and its safety cutout, and replace whatever no longer meets its rating.
