Schaerer in San Pablo
Schaerer commercial service.
A Schaerer needs steady water from its plumbed line and a pump strong enough to push it through the coffee. When either falls short, cups come out small, the machine reports a water fault, or the brew runs longer than the recipe allows. A clogged inlet screen, a weak pump or a failing flow meter can each be behind it.
We collect from businesses along San Pablo Avenue and Rumrill Boulevard and from the rest of San Pablo. EBMUD water is soft to moderate, so we look at the pump and the inlet before blaming scale. On the bench we feed the machine from a known supply, measure pump pressure and flow, and quote the part that falls short.
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Pump that has lost pressure. A worn pump still runs but can no longer hold brew pressure, so cups turn thin and pour too quickly. We measure its output against the specification, replace the pump, and check the pressure relief on the way.
- Water fault from a blocked inlet or a stuck flow meter. Sediment from the supply line collects on the inlet screen, and a flow meter can stick. The machine then reads too little water and stops with a fault. We clean the screen, test the flow meter's signal, and replace the meter if it no longer counts.
- Drinks coming out short of the set volume. If every drink is a little smaller than programmed, the flow meter may be over-counting or a valve may be leaking water away from the brew path. We compare the metered volume with what reaches the cup and fix whichever is off.

FAQ
Schaerer in San Pablo questions, answered.
-
Our machine says there is no water, but the line is on. What should we check?
Make sure the supply valve is fully open and the filter cartridge is not exhausted or clogged. If the fault stays, the inlet screen, the inlet valve or the flow meter needs a bench check. Note the exact message before you switch the machine off. -
Is a water filter still needed on EBMUD water in San Pablo?
Yes. It catches sediment, improves taste, and slows what little scale EBMUD water leaves behind. Change it on the interval its maker gives for your volume. -
Can you collect from near the civic center on San Pablo Avenue?
Yes. Tell us the address and which door the machine should leave by. Shut the supply and disconnect it, empty the grounds and drip tray, and clean the milk side if the machine has one. -
What does the Schaerer pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. -
