A Schaerer is built for hundreds of cups a day, and an older one is often worth repairing rather than replacing. The frame, boiler and much of the hydraulics last a long time. The parts that wear can be renewed: brew unit seals, burrs, valves, tubing and gaskets. We source parts for each machine and tell you plainly when one is no longer available.

We pick up from Rodeo and also take machines from Crockett and Port Costa. Rodeo and Crockett are on EBMUD water, soft to moderate. Port Costa is on Contra Costa Water District water, so a machine there may need a different filter. On the bench we look over the whole machine and write a quote that separates what must be fixed now from what can wait.

Several worn parts on an older machine. An older Schaerer can have several parts near the end of their life at the same time. We check the brew unit, grinder, milk path and water side together, list each worn part, and let you choose the order of the work.
Sourcing a board or screen for an older model. Electronics for older machines can be harder to find. We confirm the part is available before you approve the repair, and if a board can be repaired rather than replaced, the quote says so.
Boiler and heating check on a long-serving machine. Years of heating leave scale in the boiler even on softer water, and elements weaken with age. We descale, test the element and the safety cutout, and replace whatever no longer holds its rating.
