Schaerer in El Sobrante
Schaerer commercial service.
Water where it should not be is one of the plainer signs that a Schaerer needs attention: a puddle under the machine, a drip tray that fills with no drinks made, or damp behind the service door. Gaskets and seals harden with heat and age, and a water or steam valve can start leaking past its seat. Left alone, the water reaches wiring and boards.
We pick up from the downtown stretch of San Pablo Dam Road between El Portal and Appian Way, from the triangle around Appian Way and Valley View Road, and from the rest of El Sobrante. EBMUD water is soft to moderate, so hardened seals are the first thing we check. On the bench we pressure-test with the panels off, find each source, and quote the repair in writing.
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Drip tray filling with no drinks being made. A valve leaking past its seat sends water to the drip tray all day long. We find which valve it is, water or steam, and replace them as a set, since they have aged together.
- Puddle under the machine from a hardened seal. Seals and gaskets inside the case shrink and harden with heat. A joint that held for years starts to weep, and the water runs to the lowest point before anyone sees it. We pressure-test every joint and renew the ones that leak.
- Water damage to a connector or board. When a leak reaches the electronics, the machine can throw random faults or refuse to start. We fix the leak first, then dry, clean and test the affected connectors and boards, replacing only what the water ruined.

FAQ
Schaerer in El Sobrante questions, answered.
-
Should we keep using the machine if it is leaking a little?
Not for long. A small leak inside the case can reach wiring and boards, and water damage turns a seal job into a much larger repair. Turn it off, close the water supply, and book a pickup. -
Can you collect from a shop on San Pablo Dam Road?
Yes. Downtown El Sobrante along San Pablo Dam Road is in our pickup area. Tell us the entrance and parking, disconnect and cap the water line, and drain the drip tray so nothing spills on the way. -
Why did the leak start after we moved the machine?
Moving a plumbed machine can shift a hose, loosen a fitting or crack an old seal that was only holding because nothing disturbed it. Tell us what was moved and when, and we check those connections first. -
What does the Schaerer pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. -
How long does Schaerer bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Schaerer coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
