La Marzocco in Rodeo

La Marzocco commercial service.

When brew pressure goes soft or the machine gets noisy, the pump is the first place to look. La Marzocco uses a vibration pump in some models and a rotary pump with a separate motor in others, and each fails in its own way. A vibration pump buzzes louder and moves less water. A rotary pump whines as its vanes wear, and its motor can hum, run hot or struggle to start.

Rodeo sits on San Pablo Bay by Interstate 80 and State Route 4, and we pick up there and in Crockett and Port Costa. Rodeo and Crockett are on EBMUD water; Port Costa's comes from the Contra Costa Water District. We are an authorized La Marzocco service company, and every repair starts with a written quote. Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

  • Vibration pump buzzing with weak pressure. A worn vibration pump gets louder while the shot slows down. We check pressure at the group and clear any restriction first, then replace the pump if it still cannot reach its setting.
  • Rotary pump motor slow to start or running hot. A motor that hums before it turns, trips its overload or runs hot has worn bearings or a failing start component. We test the motor and its coupling separately from the pump head, and replace only the part that has failed.
  • Machine that trips the breaker on heat-up. A breaker that trips as soon as the boilers heat usually means an element has shorted to its sheath or a wire has chafed through. We test each element and the wiring to it, replace what has failed, and run a full heat-up before the machine leaves.

FAQ

La Marzocco in Rodeo questions, answered.

  • Our La Marzocco got loud and the shots slowed. Is it the pump?
Probably, but we measure before replacing it. A blocked gicleur or a scaled line can make a good pump work harder and sound worse. On the bench we check pressure and flow at the group, then decide between clearing a restriction and replacing the pump.
  • Is Port Costa inside your La Marzocco pickup area?
Yes, and so are Crockett, Rodeo and Bayo Vista. Port Costa is on Contra Costa Water District water rather than EBMUD, so let us know where the machine runs when we talk about filtration and descaling.
  • Does a vibration pump or a rotary pump last longer?
A rotary pump with its motor is built for heavier, steady use and usually outlasts a vibration pump at a busy counter. A vibration pump is simpler and easier to replace. We fit the pump your model was built with.
  • What does the La Marzocco pickup deposit cover?
$175 pickup deposit for home machines (Linea Mini, GS3); $250–$550 for commercial equipment. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately.
  • How long does La Marzocco bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered.
  • What warranty applies to La Marzocco coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
