La Marzocco in Lafayette
La Marzocco commercial service.
Lafayette's coffee scene clusters tight on Mt. Diablo Boulevard and the blocks around the BART plaza in 94549. Those independent shops run Linea PB and GB5 machines through a heavy commuter rush, and the well water and hard supply out here means scale shows up fast on the boilers.
We are close, 20 to 25 minutes from San Ramon up through Walnut Creek. That short drive makes Lafayette one of the towns where we can usually turn a stuck machine same morning.

Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Steam-boiler descaling and water filtration. Lafayette's hard supply scales the steam boiler and the gicleurs first. We descale the machine, clear the restrictors, and set up proper filtration so the cycle does not repeat.
- Vibration or rotary pump and motor. Pressure dropping or a loud hammering pump means the pump or its motor is going. We test the line pressure, then rebuild or replace the vibration or rotary pump to spec.
- Brew solenoid and group gaskets. Slow group recovery and leaking shots come back to a tired brew solenoid and a hardened portafilter gasket. We swap both and reseat the group on the Linea or GB5.
- Level probe and SSR. A boiler that overfills or runs the element dry is a fouled level probe or a failed SSR. We clean or replace the probe and verify the SSR switching before it damages the element.
