Do you keep our programmed doses when the board is replaced?

If the old board can still be read, we note your settings first. If not, send us your target volumes or shot times and we program the new board to match before the machine goes back.

Can you collect a Classe from a shop on Rumrill Boulevard?

Yes. Rumrill Boulevard, San Pablo Avenue, the area around Contra Costa College and the rest of 94806 are in our pickup area. Have the machine switched off, cool and disconnected.

On a Classe with programmed doses, a flowmeter counts the water for each shot and the control board ends the shot at the set volume. When shots start coming out long, short or different on each group, the cause usually sits in that loop: a flowmeter clogged with debris, a keypad button that sticks, or a board that has lost its settings. Grind and dose get ruled out first, and then the loop gets tested.

Rumrill Boulevard is a commercial arterial, San Pablo Avenue runs through the city past the civic center, and Contra Costa College is in town too. If your machine works along either road or anywhere else in 94806, we collect it cool and disconnected, run every group and every programmed dose on our bench, and write up the fix before starting. The work is independent, and we are not factory-authorized for Rancilio.

What we repair on the bench.

Programmed doses that drift long or short. A flowmeter with debris in it miscounts, so the machine ends the shot early or late. We clean or replace the flowmeter, then run each dose again and compare the volume with the setting.
Keypad button that sticks or does nothing. Keypads take steam, water and a lot of presses. A button that sticks can start a dose on its own or refuse to start one. We test the pad and its cable, replace the part that fails and reprogram the doses if needed.
Control faults that come and go. Intermittent faults can come from the board, a loose connector or the supply voltage. We check the connections and the voltage first, since a board replaced on a guess is an expensive mistake.
