Park Street and the Webster Street district run a tight cluster of independent coffee shops, and a good number pull shots on Rancilio gear. We cover all of Alameda across 94501 and 94502, from the East End cafes near Park to the West End spots out by Webster.

From our San Ramon base it is about 35 minutes over the bridge into the island, traffic depending. Island water carries enough hardness to scale a plumbed Classe machine over time, so descaling and a proper inline filter come up on most of our Alameda visits.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Brew and steam solenoid valves. A solenoid that sticks open floods the drip tray or leaves the steam wand weak. We test and swap the brew and steam valves on the Classe 5 and Classe 7 to stop the leak and bring pressure back.
Group gaskets and screens. A worn group gasket lets the portafilter slip and spray. We replace gaskets and dispersion screens so the lock seats tight and the puck comes out clean.
Scale and gicleur clogs. Alameda water leaves scale that plugs the gicleur and chokes flow to a group. We descale the boiler and lines and clear the jets, then check your filtration so it does not return fast.
Heating element and level sensor. No heat or erratic fill usually traces to the element or the boiler level probe. We test both, replace what failed, and confirm the boiler holds temp on a Classe 9 or 11.
