What we repair on the bench.

Hardened group gasket letting the portafilter spray. A gasket that has gone hard no longer seals against the basket rim, so water sprays around the portafilter and the handle swings further to lock. We fit a new gasket and screen and check the lock on every group.
Shower screen clogged with coffee oil. Oil and fines bake onto the screen until water comes through in a few jets instead of an even shower, and shots channel on one side of the puck. We remove the screen, clean or replace it and back-flush the group.
Steam solenoid that leaves the wand hissing. Brew and steam solenoids both wear. A steam solenoid with a tired seat lets the wand hiss after it is shut off. We clean or replace the seat and coil and test the wand closed at full boiler pressure.
