San Mateo has one of the thicker restaurant rows on the Peninsula, running along B Street downtown and out toward 25th Avenue and Hillsdale. A lot of these kitchens and cafes run a Classe 7 or 9 through both lunch and dinner, so the group and boiler see two rush periods a day instead of one.

This is also where our Peninsula technician is based, so 94401 and 94402 calls don't sit waiting on a truck from San Ramon. Two daily rushes wear the group gasket and solenoids on a schedule we've come to expect on these blocks.

What we repair on the bench.

Group gasket wearing on a double rush. A B Street kitchen running both lunch and dinner service flattens a group gasket faster than a single-rush cafe would. We replace the gasket and dispersion screen so the shot seals and sprays even through both services.
Brew solenoid rebuild. Two rush periods a day means twice the solenoid cycles of a slower shop. When the group starts dripping after the shot or flow slows early in the pull, we rebuild or swap the brew solenoid.
Boiler descaling and gicleur clearing. A restaurant-row machine running lunch and dinner scales up faster than a slower cafe. We descale the boiler and clear the gicleur jets so recovery time holds between the two rushes.
