Rancilio in Orinda

Rancilio commercial service.

Orinda is small but the coffee runs through the Theatre District and the shops near Orinda Village off Moraga Way (94563). These are neighborhood cafes and a couple of restaurant bars, mostly running a single Classe 5 or Classe 7 that the whole morning rush depends on.

From San Ramon we are about 25 minutes through the tunnel. Orinda is on well-known hard-water territory, so when a machine here slows down it is almost always scale in the group or the gicleur, and we check the filter setup before we sign off.

$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. Repair parts are covered for 6 months; consumables are covered for 90 days.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Descaling and gicleur cleanout. A single machine carrying a whole morning rush scales fast. We descale the boiler path and clear the gicleur so flow and temperature come back to spec.
Brew solenoid valve. On a one-group-heavy bar the brew solenoid takes the most cycles. We rebuild or replace it when the group drips or fails to release pressure.
Group gasket and screen. A hissing portafilter on a Classe 5 or 7 is a tired gasket. We replace the gasket and dispersion screen and reseat the group.
Level sensor and water-line check. Scale on the level probe throws off boiler fill. We clean or swap the probe and inspect the plumbed line and softener.
