San Jose has a real cafe map. Downtown and the SoFA district run high-volume specialty bars, Willow Glen's Lincoln Avenue has the neighborhood roasters, and the Almaden shops serve a quieter daytime crowd. A lot of these rooms run a Classe 9 or Classe 11 because they pull volume all day, and that volume is exactly what wears the brew valves and group seals.

We service 95120, 95124, and 95125. From San Ramon it is roughly a 45 minute run down 680, more in the afternoon. We schedule San Jose by the area so a Willow Glen call and an Almaden call land the same trip.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Pump and motor on high-volume machines. A downtown Classe 9 or 11 pulling all day eventually loses pressure at the pump. We test pressure under load, rebuild or replace the pump and motor, and set it back to spec.
Brew and steam solenoid valves. High shot counts wear the brew solenoids fast. Weak flow on one group or a dripping steam wand gets the valve replaced and tested under pressure.
Group gaskets and screens. Heavy use flattens group gaskets quicker in a busy San Jose bar. We replace gaskets and screens so the portafilter seats tight and the spray runs even.
Control board diagnostics. Dosing that drifts or a group that will not fire can be the control board. We trace it before condemning the board, since a sensor or valve is the cheaper fix more often than not.
