Oakland runs more independent coffee bars per block than almost anywhere in the East Bay. We service Rancilio machines for shops along Telegraph in Temescal (94609), the cafes around Grand and Lakeshore (94610), and the roasters tucked into Glenview and Dimond (94602). Most of these are high-volume bars where a Classe 7 or Classe 9 pulls shots from open to close.

We are based in San Ramon, about 30 to 40 minutes out depending on the Caldecott. Oakland water is hard enough that scale is the number one reason we get called, so we look at your descaling schedule and water filter on every visit, beyond the failed part.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Scaled gicleur and group restriction. High pull counts plus hard East Bay water plug the gicleur and starve the group. We clear the jet, flush the line, and check your filtration so it does not come back next month.
Brew and steam solenoid valves. A group that drips or a steam valve that will not seat is usually a solenoid. We rebuild or replace the brew and steam solenoids on the Classe 5 through 11.
Group gaskets and screens. Worn portafilter gaskets leak around the basket and ruin extraction. We swap gaskets and dispersion screens and reset group temperature.
Level sensor and heating element. Scale fouls the level probe and the machine over or under fills the boiler. We clean or replace the probe and test the element draw.
