Salt air ages fittings, screws, and exposed wiring faster than inland use does, so I check for corrosion on a Pacifica call before I check for much else. A wiring harness that would hold up for years in San Ramon can show green corrosion on the connectors in half that time out here, and it doesn't always show on a quick glance.

What we repair on the bench.
- Steam wand and fitting corrosion repair. Salt air pits steam wand tips and portafilter spouts faster on the coast than anywhere else I service. I replace the corroded fittings and check the rest of the wand assembly before it fails mid-service.
- Wiring harness and connector inspection. Marine air works into the cabinet and corrodes wiring harness connectors and terminals over time. I inspect the connections, clean or replace what's affected, so an intermittent fault doesn't come back a month later.
- Boiler descaling with a corrosion check. Local water still scales the boiler the same as inland, and salt air adds rust on cabinet screws and hinges on top of it.
