Benicia's water mixes the State Water Project, Lake Berryessa and Lake Herman, and it runs moderately hard with a hardness that changes with the source. A Franke meters every drink through its flow meters, and as scale builds or a meter drifts, the machine starts pouring short or long and throwing volume errors. The drinks still come out, just not the drinks it was set to make.

What we check on site.

Flow meter drifting off calibration. A drifting flow meter makes the machine think it poured the right volume when it did not. We measure real pours against the programmed ones, clean or replace the meter, and confirm each drink comes out at its set size.
Seals and valves leaking inside the water path. A seal that has hardened lets water weep inside the machine, and a sticking valve upsets the flow the meter reads. We find the leak, replace the seals and valves involved, and run the machine until the water path is dry and steady.
Descaling timed to changing water. Because Benicia's hardness changes with the source, a fixed descaling date can fall behind. We descale the boiler and heater, note how much scale came out, and suggest the next interval from that and your drink count.
