The brewer unit takes the most abuse on any Franke. It doses, compresses, brews and ejects every puck, so on an A300, A600 or A800 that runs all day the wear piles up there first. Pucks stop ejecting clean, the brew chamber binds, or the coffee turns weak and watery because the group is fouled or a seal has failed.

Hercules is on EBMUD water, soft to moderate, so scale builds more slowly here, and the brewer is a sensible first place to look when drinks go wrong. We come to the machine, whether it is in the Waterfront District, at Hercules Bayfront or off San Pablo Avenue, and diagnose it on site. We provide Franke authorized service, and the repair quote comes in writing after the diagnosis.

What we check on site.

Pucks not ejecting clean. A puck that crumbles, sticks or drops half-formed points at a fouled brew chamber or worn seals. We pull the brewer, clean it, replace the worn parts, and cycle it at the machine until every puck drops clean.
Brew chamber binding mid cycle. When the chamber binds, the machine stalls or throws a brewer fault. We check the brewer drive and the chamber for wear and packed grounds, rebuild the unit, and run test drinks before we sign off.
Weak, watery coffee from a fouled group. A fouled group or a failed seal lets water slip past the coffee, and extraction goes thin. We clean or rebuild the group instead of chasing the symptom with grind adjustments that will not hold.
