Empty the grounds container and drip tray daily, rinse the milk pipework after milk drinks, and descale when the machine asks. Replace the water filter on time. Brew unit seals are wear parts, so plan to change them on a cycle instead of waiting for a leak.

What if the repair costs more than the machine is worth to us?

You can turn the repair down after the bench diagnosis, and we bring the machine back as it was. The quote lists each fault and the parts it needs, so you can decide with the numbers in front of you.

We plan the pickup around those rules, diagnose the machine on our bench and return it the same way. You see a written quote before any repair begins. We are independent, not a Miele service center, and our license is CSLB #1136642.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Office machine with a worn brew unit. An office Miele runs many cycles a day, and the brew unit seals harden under that load. Pucks come out wet and the unit may bind partway through. We rebuild the unit with new gaskets, clean the piston and check the drive.
Thermoblock and valves slowed by scale. Emeryville's EBMUD water is soft to moderate, so scale takes longer to build, but a machine running all day still collects it in the thermoblock and valves. We descale the whole boiler circuit and confirm temperature and flow on the bench.
Grinder clogging on dark, oily beans. Oily roasts stick in the chute and coat the conical burrs, and the dose drifts until the machine brews weak or complains about too little coffee. We clean the grinder path, check the burrs for wear and reset the grind.
