True in Castro Valley
True commercial service.
Castro Valley's food businesses line the Boulevard: pizzerias, taquerias, bakery cases, and bars, most of them running True reach-ins and undercounters that have been in place for years. When a T-49 loses temperature mid-week, we come out through Bay Area Refrigeration Service, the commercial refrigeration division of ADRIUM Service Solutions.
There is a second layer of work here too. Castro Valley has been adding ADUs and in-law units fast, and a surprising number of them get compact True undercounters instead of consumer fridges because owners want something that lasts. Those units need commercial-grade service, and most residential appliance guys will not touch them.
We are based in San Ramon, EPA Section 608 Universal certified, CSLB #1136642. Diagnostic is $75, waived when you approve the repair, and repairs carry a 1-year warranty.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Fan motor bearings worn out on aging Boulevard reach-ins. A lot of Castro Valley True units are 8 to 15 years old, which is exactly when condenser fan bearings give up. You hear a screech at startup that fades as the motor warms. Replace it before it stalls, because a stalled fan takes head pressure and eventually the compressor with it.
- Gasket failure on pizza prep and undercounter units. Flour and sauce work into the gasket channel on TUC and prep units, the seal stops closing clean, and the box short-cycles. We pull the old gasket, clean the dart channel properly, and fit OEM True replacements so the door seals like it should.
- Evaporator icing from a seized defrost timer. The unit runs around the clock but the cabinet creeps to 48 degrees, and behind the panel the coil is a solid ice block. The defrost timer has seized. We carry timers on the van, so thaw, replace, and verify is usually a single visit.

FAQ
True in Castro Valley questions, answered.
-
How far is Castro Valley from your San Ramon base?
About 20 to 25 minutes over Crow Canyon Road or down 580. We route Castro Valley with Hayward, San Leandro, and Dublin stops, so same-day service is realistic most days of the week, and we do work 7 days. -
Do you service commercial True units installed in ADUs or rentals?
Yes. A True undercounter in an ADU is still a commercial refrigeration system with the same refrigerant circuit, so it gets the same EPA 608 certified service. Landlords get a written quote and repair record for their files. -
My cooler trips the breaker on hot afternoons. What is going on?
Usually a dirty condenser or a failing fan motor pushing the compressor into high amp draw when the kitchen heats up. Sometimes it is a weak start relay. All of that is measurable in one diagnostic visit, and the $75 fee is waived if you go ahead with the repair.
