What breaks. What we fix.
Common issues
True is one of the brands we are glad to see when we open the door. The build lasts, and a unit that goes down is almost always worth repairing instead of replacing. The calls we get are age-related, not design defects.
Thermostat problems are the most common True call. The unit runs warm or won’t hold temperature because the thermostat has drifted or failed. We diagnose the fault on site, then provide a written repair estimate before any work starts.
Refrigerant leaks show up after 15 to 20 years. Vibration and corrosion eventually open the sealed system. This is the bigger job, and the one most general appliance techs can’t legally or properly do. We are EPA-certified (EPA #1279674151528) and set up for it. We provide a written repair estimate after the on-site diagnosis. Sealed-system repairs carry a 1-year parts and labor warranty. Full rebuilds carry a 2-year parts and labor warranty.
Door gaskets wear out when maintenance gets skipped. A bad gasket lets warm air in, runs the compressor nonstop, and drives up the power bill. Swapping a worn gasket is one of the cheapest things you can do, and it spares the compressor a lot of needless run time. Left alone it shortens the life of the whole unit.
We diagnose the fault on site, then provide a written repair estimate before any work starts. The $99 service call is flat and includes full diagnostics. We quote before any work.

True Reach-In Freezer Door Gasket Replacement
A Livermore restaurant's two-door reach-in freezer was losing cold air at the door. The gasket had gone stiff and no longer pressed flat against the cabinet, so the seal broke every time the door closed.
