DCS in Vallejo
DCS in Vallejo kitchens.
A DCS RGS range in a downtown Vallejo Victorian or Craftsman is fed by a gas line added long after the house was built, and sometimes extended more than once. DCS sets natural gas at 5 inches of water column. When an old, narrow run feeds a 48-inch range, each burner can look fine on its own and then sag and burn lazy with three or four going. We read the pressure at the range under load before we touch a burner.
Glen Cove homes mostly date from the 1980s and 1990s, and a DCS there most likely came in with a later kitchen remodel. Vallejo's mild, bay-cooled weather also lets an outdoor DCS grill see use through most of the year. Our technician for Vallejo is based next door in Benicia. The $99 diagnostic gets credited toward the repair, and we quote in writing before any work. Gas work is licensed under CSLB #1136642.
Common repairs we handle.
- Burners fading when several run at once. If flames shrink or lift when the oven and three burners are on together, the supply is struggling to keep up. We measure pressure at the range with everything lit, check the regulator and the flex connector, and tell you if the house line needs a plumber before any range part is replaced.
- Outdoor grill burner lighting on one side only. On a built-in DCS grill, a burner that catches at one end and not the other usually has blocked ports or a crossover path packed with grease. We pull the burner, clear the ports and the crossover, check the igniter gap, and test each burner from low to high.
- Bake igniter glowing while the oven stays cold. The glow-bar has to draw enough current to open the oven safety valve. An aging one still glows but falls short, so the oven never lights. We measure its draw, replace it if it is weak, and watch the bake burner light and cycle before we leave.

FAQ
DCS in Vallejo questions, answered.
-
Our downtown Craftsman had its gas line extended for the DCS. How do we know it is big enough?
We test it under load. With the oven and several burners lit, natural gas pressure at the range should hold close to 5 inches of water column. If it drops well below that, the range is not the problem, and we write down the readings for a plumber. -
Is the built-in DCS grill behind our Glen Cove house worth repairing?
In most cases, yes. A built-in grill sits in an island made for it, and replacing it means matching the cutout. Burners, igniters, valves and knobs are all serviceable, and DCS parts come through Fisher & Paykel. We quote in writing and tell you if the firebox itself has rusted through. -
Do you cover Hiddenbrooke and South Vallejo for DCS repairs?
Yes, both, along with Glen Cove, Mare Island and the older streets downtown. Put any community access notes in the booking so our technician has them before the visit.
