Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- No spark, or spark that will not catch. I work through the spark electrode, the reignition module, the transformer, and the burner switch in that order, and replace whichever one is actually failing rather than guessing.
- Simmer burner runs too hot or too yellow. This usually comes down to a blocked jet, a locating pin out of position, or an orifice left wrong from an old LP conversion. Cleaning and realignment solve most of it, and I reorifice to the correct spec when needed.
- Outdoor grill or griddle module loses ignition. Weather exposure on an outdoor DCS unit wears down the igniter faster than the indoor range, or the thermal valve sticks closed. Replacing the igniter or the valve gets it back.
- Oven bake igniter will not open the gas valve. The glow-bar heats but cannot draw enough current to trip the safety valve open. A new igniter usually fixes it, though I check the dual thermal valve and convection motor if the symptom points that way.
