DCS in Pinole
DCS in Pinole kitchens.
Much of Pinole's housing dates from the postwar boom of the 1940s through the 1960s, and those kitchens were laid out around a 30-inch range. In one of them, the RGS that fits the opening is the 30-inch model, a full professional range in a standard width. It sits close to the cabinets on both sides, and most repairs start by sliding it out on its gas connector.
Pinole Valley homes are larger, three bedrooms and up, with more room for a wider RGS and a grill or griddle module. Our technician for Pinole is based in Benicia and carries a gas-leak detector on every call. The diagnostic costs $99 and is credited toward the repair, and you get a written quote before any work begins.
Common repairs we handle.
- Old flex connector found when the range slides out. The gas connector behind an older installation may be kinked, corroded, or an uncoated brass type that should not stay in service. We check it with the leak detector every time the range moves, and if it needs replacing, that goes on the quote before the range goes back.
- Knob hard to turn or not holding its flame setting. A burner valve that sticks, or lets the flame creep up on its own, is worn inside. We check the knob and stem first, since grease there can feel like a bad valve. If the valve itself is at fault, we replace it and leak-test the manifold.
- Cabinet beside the range getting too hot. A pro range gives off real heat, and in a tight 30-inch opening the cabinet sides take some of it. Warm is normal; scorched or too hot to touch is not. We check the oven door hinges and gasket and the insulation around the oven, then confirm the installation clearances.

FAQ
DCS in Pinole questions, answered.
-
Our Old Town kitchen is narrow. How far does the DCS have to come out for a repair?
Only as far as the failed part requires. Burners, switches and electrodes are reached from the top, and many oven parts through the oven cavity. When it has to slide out, we pad the floor, and the gas connection gets leak-tested before the range goes back in place. -
We just bought a house in Pinole on the Hill with a used DCS range. Is a checkup worth it?
It is a sensible first step. We light every burner on high and low, test the ignition chain and the oven, measure gas pressure, and check the connector and the anti-tip bracket. You get a written list of anything that needs attention. -
Does one diagnostic cover the burners, the oven and the griddle?
Yes. One diagnostic covers the whole range and anything else you want looked at on the same visit. Each repair gets its own line on the written quote.
