DCS in Benicia
DCS in Benicia kitchens.
Most of Benicia's houses come from its 1970 to 1995 growth, and a DCS RGS range there usually arrived in a later remodel, replacing a 30-inch freestanding range or claiming a wider opening. Each burner is a sealed dual-orifice design with its own spark electrode, and a reignition module relights any flame that goes out. When that chain misbehaves, the symptoms are noisy and easy to misread: clicking that will not stop, a burner that sparks weakly, or a flame that keeps relighting on low.
We meter the ignition chain instead of swapping parts until the clicking stops. Our technician is based right here in Benicia and covers the Eastside, Southampton and the West Side. Every visit starts with a $99 diagnostic, which is credited toward the repair, and the written quote comes before any part goes in.
Common repairs we handle.
- Nonstop clicking after a spill or a wipe-down. Water or cleaner that runs down past a knob can wet a burner switch, and the reignition module then sparks without end. We let the switch area dry, test each switch for a short, and replace only the one that stays closed.
- Flame that keeps relighting on the lowest setting. The reignition module sparks whenever it senses the flame is gone. If a burner keeps relighting at simmer, the electrode may be dirty or sitting too far from the flame, or the flame itself may be too small. We clean and position the electrode, check the jet, and confirm the burner holds a steady low flame.
- Burner head sitting off its locating pins. Set back slightly crooked after cleaning, a burner head sits off its pins and the flame turns uneven, yellow or loud. We reseat each head and cap, check the jet underneath for debris, and light every burner on high and low to confirm.

FAQ
DCS in Benicia questions, answered.
-
Our Southampton kitchen has a 36-inch RGS that clicks even with the knobs off. Is it safe to use?
The clicking itself is not dangerous, but it points to a switch or module fault that needs fixing. Until then, you can switch the range off at its breaker when you are not cooking to stop the noise. We test the switches and the module and quote only the part that failed. -
The DCS grill on our Eastside patio sat unused for months and now burns yellow. What happened?
Insects and spiders like to nest in burner tubes when a grill sits idle, and the gas-air mix goes rich. We pull the burners, clear the tubes and ports, check the orifices and the igniter, and light every burner before we leave. -
Can you tell whether our range still has the right orifices after a fuel change?
Yes. We read the orifice markings, set the regulator for the fuel, 5 inches of water column for natural gas or 10 for propane, and check the flame at every burner. The wrong orifices leave a flame yellow and noisy, or too small to cook with.
