DCS in Emeryville
DCS in Emeryville kitchens.
Emeryville is mostly multi-unit housing: the Watergate condominiums at the marina, and the residential blocks along the Shellmound corridor near the Powell Street and Bay Street shops. A DCS RGS range in a condo shares walls and floors with neighbors, so a gas smell here concerns the whole building. We carry a gas-leak detector and check every fitting we touch before we leave.
Building rules shape the visit. Send us the elevator booking, the loading area and any contractor paperwork your HOA asks for, including our license, CSLB #1136642. Our technician for Emeryville is based in Benicia. A $99 diagnostic, credited toward the repair, opens the visit, and a written quote follows before work starts.
Common repairs we handle.
- Faint gas smell near the range. We test every joint from the shutoff valve to the burners with a leak detector, including the flex connector and the manifold. A loose fitting gets tightened or replaced and tested again. If you smell gas, leave the building, call 911 and PG&E at 1-800-743-5000 from a safe distance, and book us once it is safe.
- Burner that sparks but never catches. A burner that clicks and never lights has a weak spark or a gas-air problem. We check the electrode gap and its wiring, clear the jet, confirm the burner head sits on its locating pins, and watch the flame at high and low.
- No spark at any burner. When none of the burners spark, the fault sits upstream of the electrodes: the power supply, the transformer or the spark module. We check the outlet and the power to the range first, then meter the transformer and module and replace the one that failed.

FAQ
DCS in Emeryville questions, answered.
-
Does the Watergate HOA need anything from you before a DCS repair?
Some buildings ask for the contractor's license number and a scheduled time. Ours is CSLB #1136642. Tell us what your management requires, such as a sign-in, an elevator booking or a set work window, and we plan the visit around it. -
Our condo kitchen near Bay Street is small. Can the RGS be serviced where it stands?
Much of it can. Burners, switches, electrodes and a grill or griddle module are reached from the top, and the oven igniter and thermostat through the oven. If the range has to come forward, we pad the floor, and the gas is reconnected and leak-tested before it goes back. -
Our RGS takes a long time to boil water. Could the building's gas supply be low?
It could. DCS sets natural gas at 5 inches of water column, and we check whether the reading holds with several burners lit. If the pressure sags, the building supply or the regulator needs attention, and we give you the readings in writing for your management.
