DCS in Santa Clara
DCS in Santa Clara kitchens.
Santa Clara kitchens have been remodeling at tech-economy speed, and DCS shows up here in newer, well-funded projects. Around the Old Quad and the streets near Santa Clara University, restored bungalows hide surprisingly serious kitchens, and a 36 inch RGS range is a frequent choice. In the newer townhome and single-family developments toward the north side, outdoor living packages often included a DCS built-in grill on the patio or roof deck.
The city also has a real ADU wave, and I see compact secondary units where the main house kept the big DCS range while the ADU got the smaller appliances. That means my Santa Clara stops often cover two units at one address, a pro range in the main kitchen and a quick check on the rental unit's equipment while I am there.
We operate as ADRIUM Service Solutions from San Ramon, CSLB #1136642, EPA Section 608 Universal certified. $75 diagnostic that is waived with the repair, written quotes up front, a 1 year warranty on repairs, and 7 day scheduling.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Roof deck grill failing early from sun and wind exposure. Santa Clara's newer developments put DCS grills on exposed roof decks, and constant sun cooks the knob bezels, wiring insulation, and igniter leads faster than a shaded patio would. I replace the degraded leads and electrodes and route the new wiring away from the hottest surfaces.
- RGS burner slow to light after countertop resurfacing. Kitchen refresh projects leave stone dust and sealer residue around the cooktop, and it settles into the burner heads and electrode gaps. Post-remodel ignition complaints are their own category here. I strip and clean the burner assemblies and reset every spark gap to spec.
- Oven safety valve not opening on an aging RGS. When a good igniter pulls correct current and the oven still will not fire, the gas safety valve itself has failed. It is a less common failure than the igniter, which is why I test in that order, but on ranges past 15 years it happens. The valve is a stocked Fisher & Paykel part and the repair is straightforward.

FAQ
DCS in Santa Clara questions, answered.
-
How long does it take you to get to Santa Clara from San Ramon?
It is my longest regular run, about 45 minutes down 680 past Milpitas. I book Santa Clara on dedicated South Bay days together with San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Cupertino stops, so appointments land on route days rather than same-day. The visit itself is unhurried once I am there. -
Can you check the appliances in my ADU while you are here for the main house range?
Yes, and Santa Clara owners ask this often. Tell me when you book so I allow the time. A second-unit checkout on the same visit is far cheaper than a separate call later. -
Are DCS parts still available for a range from the mid 2000s?
For the RGS line, mostly yes. Fisher & Paykel took over parts distribution and the mechanical components, valves, igniters, and burners remain available. A few trim pieces are discontinued, and I tell you at diagnostic if your repair touches one.
