DCS in Castro Valley
DCS in Castro Valley kitchens.
Castro Valley sits closer to our shop than almost any other city we serve, straight over Crow Canyon Road. The DCS units I see here split two ways. Up in Palomares Hills and along the canyon roads there are larger properties with 48 inch RGS ranges, often the RGS-486GD with the factory griddle module. Down in the flats near the village, remodeled ranch homes run the 30 and 36 inch models, which fit the original kitchen footprint without moving walls.
Backyard kitchens are big here too. Castro Valley lots are deep, and a lot of homeowners built covered patios with a DCS built-in grill during the last decade. Those grills sit under cover but still take winter moisture, so igniter and valve problems show up every spring when people fire them up for the first barbecue.
I run ADRIUM Service Solutions out of San Ramon, CSLB #1136642, EPA 608 Universal certified. Diagnostic is $75, waived with repair, written quote before work begins, 1 year warranty on repairs, available 7 days a week.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Griddle module heats uneven or overheats. The 48 inch RGS with the built-in griddle uses a thermostat that drifts after years of use. One side scorches while the other barely warms. I verify plate temperature with a surface probe at multiple points, then replace the thermostat rather than guessing at the gas valve.
- One burner much weaker than the rest. DCS surface burners on these ranges put out serious BTUs, and when one drops off the owner notices immediately. The usual cause is a partially clogged orifice or a damaged burner cap seat. Cleaning and reseating fixes most, and I carry replacement caps when the casting has warped from a boilover.
- Spring startup grill failure after winter. First warm weekend of the year, the grill clicks and nothing happens. Spiders nest in the venturi tubes over winter and moisture kills the AA battery spark system or the module. I clear the burners, test spark at every electrode, and get you grilling the same visit in most cases.

FAQ
DCS in Castro Valley questions, answered.
-
How fast can you get to Castro Valley from San Ramon?
About 20 minutes over Crow Canyon Road, which makes you one of our quickest destinations. I route Castro Valley together with Hayward, San Leandro, and Dublin stops, so same-week and often next-day appointments are realistic here. -
Can you service a DCS grill that is built into an outdoor island?
Yes, and most of them in Castro Valley are. The grill head lifts out of the island for burner and valve work, and I do that on site. If the island was mortared tight against the chassis I will tell you at diagnostic what access we need before quoting. -
Do you use genuine DCS parts?
For anything gas-carrying, yes. Valves, burners, and orifices are OEM through Fisher & Paykel distribution. For commodity items like igniter electrodes I will use an exact-spec equivalent if it gets your range running a week sooner, and I tell you which is which on the written quote.
