- Grill or griddle module won't hold flame. Even in a smaller condo kitchen, a GL grill or GD griddle module built into the range can lose flame strength from a worn igniter or a thermal valve sticking partway closed. I test igniter draw before pulling the valve.
- Oven glow-bar igniter won't trip the valve. The glow bar glows orange but the oven safety valve never opens, because the igniter can't pull enough current. I swap the glow bar and confirm the new one opens the valve before closing everything up.
